I. Educational Positioning

Luzhou Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive public ordinary higher education institution approved by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. It mainly focuses on full-time higher vocational associate degree education, while also taking into account adult education, Sino-foreign cooperative education, and social training. It is qualified to admit foreign students and employ foreign expert teachers.

II. Long History

The predecessor of the college was Chuan'nan Normal School, established in 1901, and was the first "new school" in Sichuan. Zhao Xi, a compiler at the Imperial Academy's Institute of National History in the Qing Dynasty and the foremost lyricist of the late Qing, served as the first president. Zhu De, Yun Daiying, and others once worked diligently here, nurturing famous alumni such as Wu Yuzhang, Zeng Delin, and Li Yinghai.

IV. School Conditions

The college is located on the bank of the turbulent Yangtze River and Tuo River, offering 40 higher vocational associate degree programs, with nearly 15,000 students enrolled, covering an area of 1344 mu.

It boasts a modern graphic information center with a collection of 1,448,500 books, 2 training bases supported by the central government (Electronic and Electrical Training Base, Construction Engineering Training Base), 1 ***productive training base (Engineering Cost Productive Training Base), the largest Nuobo Kindergarten in Southern Sichuan, excellent on-campus internship and training bases such as a four-star InterContinental Hotel and Shou Lv Jinglun Hotel, an indoor gymnasium, a constant-temperature swimming pool, and warm and comfortable standardized dormitories and canteens, providing first-class learning and living guarantees for teachers and students.

The college has 722 faculty members, including 1 expert from the first batch of Sichuan Province's "Tianfu Ten Thousand Talents Program," and over 20 top talents including provincial-level experts with outstanding contributions, provincial-level academic and technical leaders (reserve candidates), and municipal-level academic and technical leaders. It has invited 307 part-time teachers, including Jia Kang, member of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former director of the Fiscal Science Research Institute of the Ministry of Finance; Zhou Xiaotian, vice president of the Chinese Poetry Society, winner of the 6th Lu Xun Literature Award for Poetry, and professor at Sichuan University; and Zeng Guoping, keynote speaker on CCTV's "Lecture Room" and doctoral supervisor at Chongqing University.

The college actively deepens industry-education integration and international cooperation, comprehensively promotes the construction of "one academy, one brand" and "one major, one model," and implements the "1+1+1" (i.e., one major closely aligns with one large state-owned enterprise or listed company, and closely relies on one undergraduate institution, research institute, or industry association) educational reform. It has jointly established Huawei ICT Academy with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., China Liquor College with China Alcoholic Drinks Association, Sichuan Tongniang Baijiu Research Institute with Luzhou Laojiao and others, Lanqiao College with Guoxin Lanqiao, Langjiu College with Sichuan Langjiu Group, Haoneng College with Haoneng Company, InterContinental Talents Academy with InterContinental Hotels Group, Sichuan Sino-German Training College with Dresden University of Technology in Germany, HWK Sichuan Examination Center with HWK Germany. It conducts study abroad programs for associate, bachelor's, and master's degrees with Manchester Metropolitan University in the UK, cooperates with the South Africa-China Cultural and International Education Exchange Centre to enroll South African students, and collaborates with KLC International Institute in Singapore for bachelor's degree studies and overseas employment. In recent years, teachers such as Tan Guolong and Zheng Yuqi have completed 201 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, won 3 All-Army Science and Technology Progress Awards, and obtained 128 patents; they have also won 3 provincial-level teaching achievement awards and 22 provincial-level education scientific research achievement awards. Teachers like Hu Danping and Zou Fuling have won over 120 awards in provincial-level or above teacher skill competitions such as Teaching Ability Competitions and Counselor Quality Competitions. Students like Xiao Yuhan and Luo Yufeng have successively won over 1100 awards in skill competitions such as the National Mobile Internet Application Software Development Competition and the National Big Data Technology and Application Competition, with over 240 provincial-level first prizes or above.
