Introduction to Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University
Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University, was founded in 1911 by the Yale-in-China Association. As one of China's earliest institutions to offer nursing education, the school has evolved from its initial "Yale School of Nursing" to the current "Xiangya School of Nursing, Central South University." After a century of development, it has thrived during the reform and opening-up period, earning the renowned reputation of "Southern Xiangya" both domestically and internationally.
Comprehensive degree programs. In 2000, Central South University's Nursing program was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council of the Chinese government as a master's degree granting institution in nursing. In 2004, it began enrolling doctoral students in community nursing based on clinical medicine, becoming one of China's earliest two authorized doctoral degree programs in nursing. After becoming a first-level discipline in 2011, Xiangya School of Nursing became one of China's first batch of doctoral programs in nursing, and in 2012, it was approved to establish one of China's first postdoctoral research stations in nursing.
Discipline development ranks among the best.
